Burrinja Cafe fundraiser

The 12th March 2011 was a special day for La Chica. It was the day that Christie Heart organised a fundraiser for Testigo Africa that raised $4,000! Yes, that’s right, $4,000. Over 120 people attended a fantastic night with fabulous musicians and a silent auction, at Burrinja Cafe in Upwey. La Chica and Testigo Africa’s Monash University student volunteers including Harris, Dinali, Laura, Darren, Jenny and Richard all wore Testigo Africa tshirts and helped make the night a great success. $2,000 was raised through ticket sales, and $2,000 from the 54 items for sale at the silent auction. La Chica showed a 15 minute documentary film about the Testigo Africa project, and Christie was a fabulous MC and performer.
